The Walden Fitness Center offers Walden residents the best in fitness training including cardio equipment, a weight machine circuit and free weights. 
The state of the art weight room also has individual televisions on all of its cardio equipment. 
An attendant is always present to help assist you with your Fitness Center needs.

Stephen Wentrek, CSCS 

Walden Fitness Center Director

Stephen has been in the fitness industry for over 6 years. He graduated magna cum laude from University of Houston has his B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Kinesiology. He also holds personal training certifications with National Academy of Sports Medicine and with the National Strength and Conditioning Association. After he graduated he continued his education by becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Recently became certified Schwinn Cycling Instructor, He has a passion for helping people change their lives by creating a new lifestyle through fitness. He began lifting weights after college and instantly loved the changes it made in his body and life. With the continued support, love, and encouragement of his family, he has competed and placed in various competitions such as triathlons, strongman, and no-gi jiu-jitsu. Stephen has experience helping everyone from young athletes to clients that need help with weight loss. He is far from a one dimensional trainer as he has worked with clients and their physical therapist to help create a better life. He is looking forward to bringing his experience to Walden on Lake Conroe and helping create the best fitness atmosphere.

Walden Fitness Center Class Descriptions

Cardio Dance

This exciting workout combines a moderate to high intensity cardio workout with functional strength exercises.  (All Levels)

Stability & Core

Strengthen your core and increase your balance while having fun with the exercise ball. Improve your fitness level while adding variety to your workout. (All Levels)

Boot Camp

This class is the ultimate workout for the cross-trainer. We will challenge your agility, speed, strength, and endurance. This is a great workout for cardiovascular fitness and muscular Strength. (All levels)


Total Body Conditioning (TBC)

This class is designed to increase physical strength through weight-bearing and resistance exercise. All major muscle groups will be worked. (All levels)



Start your morning off strong. Tone and lengthen your entire body while developing core stability and balance. This is great for those who are trying to increase flexibility. (All levels)

Strength and Stretch

This class focuses on core stability in correlation with active sports players (Ex: golfer, tennis player).  It also increases range of motion and flexibility to accommodate the active person. (All Levels)  





Results are the main focus of the program and the trainers’ goal is to help each participant reach his or her fitness goals.  This program is for everyone, no matter what their personal goals.  Whether you are looking to lose the first 10 pounds, the last 10 pounds, build your strength or endurance this program will help you. This is a big commitment for both the participants and the trainers.  Expectations are high and a 100% commitment to the program is required.

    The program consists of the following:

1.  10 sessions over 5 weeks, 2 days per week.

2.  Sessions are 45 minutes long and consist of strength training to shape and tone muscles and cardio to burn calories. 

3.  Participants MUST complete 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise on their own at least 5 days a week in addition to the 10 training sessions.

4.  Measurements will be recorded (Weight, Circumference, body fat percentage, etc.) on the first day and again on the last day of the program. 

5.  A meal plan and other nutritional guidance will also be provided.

Participants will work within small groups with minimum of two people per group at a specified time Monday through Friday.
